About 2,730 new educational institutions have been listed under the Monthly Payment Scheme (MPO) across Bangladesh as Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina revealed the names of the newly listed institutes.
Earlier, in 2019, the government announced the inclusion of more than 2,700 educational institutions in the MPO list.
New MPO recipients include 666 secondary schools, 1,122 secondary schools, 136 senior secondary schools, 109 senior secondary colleges, and 18 degree colleges. The new MPO list also includes about 665 educational institutions affiliated with the Council for Vocational Education and Schools.

These are 97 SSC Vocational or Apprenticeships Inside, 200 SSC in Business and Technology Management, Two Diplomas in Agriculture, 264 Dakhil School, 85 Alerm School, Six Farazi School and 11 Kamil Madrassa.
The new MPO list was released in July 2022 from an event at the Prime Minister’s official residence in Ganabhaban. In 2010, a total of 1,624 educational institutions were merged under the MPO scheme. Subsequently, recruitment was shut down for an extended period which led to protests by teachers and staff.
A nine-year long wait for teachers and staff of schools and colleges run by the governing body is coming to an end today as the government will officially announce that it will bring in several new educational institutions under the Monthly Payment Order (MPO).
